About

Hey there. I’m a Canadian USA Today best-selling author, and I love writing for everyone—whether you’re young, old, or somewhere in between. My books? Well, they’re a mixed bag. Some are steamy, some are sweet, and a few might have you sleeping with the lights on. Others are perfect for snuggling up with.

And you know what? That’s totally okay with me.

One thing’s for sure: every book I write promises to be a great read, every single time.

15 Years and counting

It’s been 15 years since I published Tuesday’s Child, the first book in the Psychic Vision series, and that milestone always fills me with gratitude. I don’t often stop to reflect on it, because in truth this journey began long before that, 10, 11, maybe even 12 years earlier, when I first sat down to write a story. I still have that original book. It will never be published, but it will always mean so much to me. Even then, I was writing more than 5,000 words a day, and most of them weren’t meant to stay, but that didn’t matter. What mattered was that I finally got the story out of my head and onto the page. That was the real victory. And once I reached that first dream, I just kept reaching higher.

The momentum built and built as I learned the craft, and it took me 11-plus years to finally bring Tuesday’s Child to the world. Part of that delay was fear, because when something means that much to you, it’s hard to let it go. It was my baby; the first real piece of fiction I created that felt good enough to share. I had already published three nonfiction books after coming from a technical writing background in the biomedical field, but none of that truly prepared me for building a fiction novel from the ground up and shaping it into something I could proudly place in someone else’s hands.

Once it reached the shelves, I honestly never looked back. I remember the first day clearly… I sold about 20 copies, and I was stunned, overjoyed, and so incredibly thankful. From there, everything just kept growing in the most wonderful way.

There are now, I believe, 32 books in that series. It’s been a 15-year journey since I published the first one, which averages out to about two books a year, and I still have at least one or two more in progress. I’ve also written hundreds of books in other genres along the way. I began this journey with a full heart, and I’ve been rewarded rewarded again and again—not only through sales, but through the beautiful emails, comments, and messages from readers who connected with my work.

It’s always a little nerve-wracking to release a new book, whether it’s the start of a new series or another story in an old one, because you’re only as good as your last book. Still, I try to hold onto hope and grace. I hope readers will stay with me, even if one book doesn’t fully resonate, and give the next one a chance. The market can be so unpredictable, and there are so many authors out there, so every reader who chooses my books truly means the world to me. I’m honored that you care about the stories that come from my heart and the characters who live so close to it.

It has been an incredible journey, and I can’t thank everyone enough for walking beside me through it. Your support, your kindness, and your enthusiasm have meant more than I can ever say, and I’m so grateful that you’ve been there with me every step of the way.

Thank you!

A bit about my process

I’ve never been one to color inside the lines or stick to a single path. I embrace the wild stories that pop into my head, even if they break the rules and dance across genres. A few years ago, I switched to dictating my stories because my fingers were starting to feel the impact of my steady 10,000 words a day. Dictating is linear, so it silences my internal editor. You can’t stop to ensure something is perfect or to see what needs changing—you must continue onward. This approach has allowed me to let my muse take the lead and to feel the story pour from my heart. My mind steps in during the editing process, but, until then, it’s all about letting the characters direct the story. That’s why my stories have that existential feel of a Dale Mayer book.

My path

As I walk forward on my path to the future,

I choose laughter, love, and light as my sutures,

stitching together my lifetime of choices,

as the essential fabric of my being rejoices

in the love, friendships, and faith that follow

the steps I take as I flow into my tomorrow.
